Meet the Dudley family
8 Apr 2011
Hear what Elvin and Lesley have been up since moving with their family to Croatia...
Three years ago Elvin and Lesley Dudley moved to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, with a vision of influencing leaders and church's in the region and pioneering projects focused on the next generation of children and youth.
Known for ethnic cleansing, genocide and war the Balkans are Europe's most unstable region. And ten years since the end of the war, the nations of the former Yugoslavia are still coming to terms with their past. Zagreb had a reputation for being a place hardened to outsiders and the gospel, being better known for corruption, communism and its para-military police force. But from the moment the Dudleys arrived, it became apparent that the Lord had prepared the way with opportunities across the city.
Working with four different denominations, they have trained teams and run numerous Kidz Klubs in some of the largest communist housing complexes in Eastern Europe, as well as running outreaches at two local children's homes and three gypsy villages on a regular basis. They have also started their own projects: a language school for children and a Sticky Fingers baby group which allows them to work with over 80 families a week.
In the coming year they are planning to run projects in Bosnia (50 miles south of Zagreb) and to run small disciple groups with contacts and friends from the city.
If you would like to support the Dudley family or any of our other overseas contacts (either in prayer or financially) please contact dj@frontline.org.uk who will give you more information.
